The center is named for the famous Overmountain Men who traveled over 290 miles over mountain trails in the area to turn the Battle of King's Mountain into an American victory during the Revolutionary War. The center, and Sugar Hollow Retreat in general, seek to embody the spirit of these men and convey some of their pioneering attitude to corporate retreats.
